76 Gas, formerly Union 76, is owned by ConocoPhillips. The original name referred to the American "Spirit of 76" and the octane rating of the gas in 1932.
Take a look at your 76 Gas gift card and the first thing you'll notice is the bright orange ball with the blue '76' in the middle. It's a symbol familiar to Daytona International Speedway fans where, until 2004, the balls were used as scoring points.
The blue ball also appears on many clothing lines in Japan and is a popular logo in the Cult Style of European car tuning, particularly on VW Golf MK 1 GTIs, because they debuted in 1976.
Look for that distinctive orange ball when you're ready to buy gas with your 76 Gas gift cards.
