Where can I redeem my Barnes & Noble gift cards?
If you have a plastic card, the sky's the limit. You can use your card at any Barnes & Noble store or online. You can also use a plastic gift card at any Barnes & Noble College Bookstore. As far as their e-gift cards are concerned, you may use them online or at any Barnes & Noble store. Unfortunately, they cannot be used at the college store locations at this time.

You're going to need that PIN to place an order online, and any card issued after October, 2003 has one. If you purchased an e-gift card, the PIN will be in the body of the email text. If you have a plastic gift card, you can locate the PIN on the back of the card underneath a scratch off section. To reveal the PIN, simply scratch the concealing material off.

 

Can I get a refund on my Barnes & Noble gift card?
Currently, you cannot get cash for your card from Barnes & Noble. You can, however, contact one of the vendors you see on this site and sell your gift card to them. They will buy your card at a rate lower than the value of the card for cash. They then sell the card at a discount on their site.

Barnes & Noble, Inc. was started all the way back in 1873 by Charles Barnes in Wheaton, Illinois. The bookworm started by opening a book-printing shop, and he was soon succeeded by his son, William and a friend, Clifford Noble, who opened a bookstore in 1917. This acquisition turned the chain into a nationwide retailer, and they soon became the second largest online bookseller in the U.S. with the launch of their website in 1997. Prior to that, the company primarily sold their books through mail-order catalogs to its millions of customers worldwide. Presently, the company carries over 1 million titles on its website, and has become the largest book retailer in the United States. They are known for having a great atmosphere that you can spend lots of time browsing through their stores for every type of book, music, game, movie, and magazine. Many locations actually contain a Starbucks Coffee outlet, which they believe has added significantly to their success. They operate 717 stores nationwide, and have yet to go international.
