Your Wegmans gift card will never decline in value. The amount of money that is initially added to your Wegmans gift card when it's activated is the amount that will remain until you begin to use it towards your grocery bill.
Technically speaking, Wegmans gift cards do not come with an expiration date. That being said, if you live in the state of New York, be sure to use some or all of your gift card balance within five years of activation or prior use. According to the Abandoned Property Law of New York state, if a gift card has been inactive for more than five years, it is then considered abandoned, and all of the remaining funds will be submitted to the state treasury.
Wegmans recommends always treating your gift cards as if they are cash to ensure safe-keeping. That being said, in the event that you do lose a Wegmans gift card, call the number 1-800-848-1555 to see about replacing it.
Please be sure to have the receipt for your gift card’s purchase or online order number on hand when you call.
In the past, Wegmans has charged a $1.50 service fee per month, specifically for Wegmans gift cards that have gone unused for more than 24 months (2 years). Effective as of October 3, 2011, however, service fees will no longer be applied to gift card purchases. If any of your gift cards are older and have a notice about service fees on the back, please disregard this.
