About Steak n Shake
Steak ‘n Shake was founded in Normal, Illinois in February of 1934 by Gus Belt, who was determined to sell the highest quality burgers and milkshakes he could possibly produce. To do so, he would wheel in barrels of steak and grind the meat right in front of the customers-- providing the proverbial proof in the pudding of their slogan: “In Sight it Must Be Right.” Rounds, T-bone and sirloin all went into creating the finest burgers, dubbed “steakburgers” to indicate their heritage. And the shakes from the name don’t need the addition of booze to be good-- they’re amazing all on their creamy, sweet own. Over 85 years in the making, Steak ‘n Shake knows how to do their food right and in sight.
