Adidas Gift Card FAQs

When using a discount gift card purchased from one of the businesses shown on our site, there are typically terms and conditions specific to each store. So how do you keep them all straight? Simple! We've taken all of the really important information for Adidas gift cards and aggregated it right here to make things easy for you.

What types of gift cards are available for Adidas stores?
Currently, Adidas only offers the traditional plastic gift cards for use on their website, www.shopadidas.com, or in their retail stores. You cannot use a gift card to purchase Adidas shoes in a department store or a store that sells many different shoe brands.

Are there any special rules I need to follow when using a discount gift card?
Your discount Adidas card works just as any newly purchased gift certificate would. You may use it towards the purchase of shoes apparel or even socks. Please note that if you lose the gift card, in order to get a replacement card issued, you will need to provide the original receipt and Adidas will only issue the card to the original purchaser. Since you will not be the original purchaser, keep good track of your gift card, because if you lose it, getting those funds back will likely be very difficult.

Back side of an Adidas gift cardI'm placing my order online and it's asking for my PIN, where is it?
The PIN number is located in the bottom left corner on the back of the Adidas gift card, along with the card number.

I used my card once, where can I find out what the remaining balance is on my card?
You can check your balance one of two ways. You can give Adidas a call at 1-800-982-9337 or you can check your balance online here.

How many gift cards can I use to make one purchase?
Adidas will allow you to use up to five (5) gift cards at a time to make a purchase

I have an Adidas card I'd like to sell, how do I do this?
We have several different sites on GiftCardGranny.com that will trade your gift card for cash. These sites will buy the card from you at a slightly lower price than the balance. They then turn around and sell it to folks looking for a bargain online. Since Adidas will not exchange a gift card for cash, these sites provide a valuable service for folks in need of a little extra money in their bank account. Find the right site for you here.

About Adidas

Adidas ShoesAdidas began as a sports shoes company in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria by Adolf Dassler and his brother Rudolf Dassler.
The brothers actually started the company in their mother’s wash kitchen, and the company soon took off. At times, the electricity in the city was so bad, that the brothers had to make their own power by pedaling a stationary bicycle to run their equipment.

In the 1936 Summer Olympics, Adolf promoted his shoes by persuading the U.S. sprinter Jesse Owens to try them. This was actually the first African American sponsorship in the world, and the runner’s astounding four gold medal placements led to the company’s first real hint of success. Immediately following the success of the hit sprinter, international sports coaches and enthusiasts alike were desperate to get their hands on the shoes that Mr. Owens had triumphed in. In less than 10 years, the two brothers were selling over 200,000 pairs of shoes each year to people all around the world.

Things took a turn for the worse when both of the brothers joined the Nazi party, and were repeatedly bombed by the Allies. Rudolf was eventually captured and expected to be a member of the Waffen SS, and was convinced that his brother Adolf had turned on him. After the war, the brothers split, and Adolf remained with the company Adidas, and Rudolf created his own brand called Puma.

The brand name Adidas was originally believed to be an acronym for, “All day I dream about sports,” but the founder himself claimed it was his nickname, Adi, combined with the first three letters of his last name Das.
